Lucy Njuk
Lucy Njuki is a highly accomplished mental health and development professional with over 15 years of experience delivering impactful community-based interventions across mental health, psychosocial support, HIV, GBV, OVC, and adolescent-focused programs. A trained Counseling Psychologist and Project Coordinator, she has dedicated her career to improving the wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities through evidence-based, trauma-informed, and people-centered approaches.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Egerton University, a Higher Diploma in Counselling Psychology from the Kenya Institute of Professional Counselors, and a Certificate in Science Laboratory Technology from Kenya Polytechnic. This strong multidisciplinary academic foundation enables her to integrate psychosocial care with health and community development programming.
Lucy has held senior technical and coordination roles within USAID and CDC -funded initiatives, including DREAMS, OVC, eMTCT, and Faith and Community programs, working in partnership with World Vision Kenya, LVCT Health, IMA Health, and St. John’s Community Centre. Her expertise spans mental health service delivery, case management, capacity building, supervision of multidisciplinary teams, stakeholder engagement, budgeting, reporting, and advocacy for vulnerable populations—particularly adolescent girls and young women at risk of HIV and gender-based violence.
Her professional experience extends beyond Kenya, having served with the Psychosocial Support Center in Uganda as a Counseling Psychologist and Field Monitor, where she provided mental health and psychosocial support to children, adolescent girls, young women, and caregivers, while strengthening community systems through training, mentorship, and program monitoring.
Committed to continuous professional growth, Lucy has undertaken extensive training in trauma counseling, emotional intelligence, gender norms transformation, gender-based violence prevention, parenting interventions, HIV testing services, and community-based mental health care. She is widely respected for her empathy, ethical leadership, strategic thinking, and ability to deliver results in complex and resource-limited
settings.
Outside of her professional work, Lucy enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and reading literature.
