Adanma Nwokoma

Adanma is a globally recognized Empowerment Self Defense Professional (ESDP), communications expert, and trainer with over 20 years of experience in public engagement, education, and advocacy. She is a credentialed member of the International Association of ESD Professionals (IAESDP) and holds the highest level of accreditation with ESD Global and AAA.

Trained in Israel in 2020, Adanma has advanced to Level 4 and has since facilitated multiple Level 1 Empowerment Self Defense courses across diverse contexts. She was a lead trainer in the three-week ESD Global training in Rwanda (2022), one of the largest of its kind, and has taught close to 3,000 participants both in-person and online.

Beyond training, she is deeply committed to mentorship and capacity building, supporting emerging practitioners to grow in skill, confidence, and leadership. She currently serves as Director of Communications at ESD Global, where she leads global storytelling and engagement strategies.

Adanma brings a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and participant-centered approach to her work, equipping individuals and communities with practical skills for safety, voice, and agency.
